Coaching

This Spring was a lot of fun for sports.  Ernie first coached Little E's soccer team.

And then he coached Caleb and Little E's t-ball team.  They had so much fun, and he was so cute and patient with the kids!

 Boogie is #1.
He was a great player, but don't worry, the game never interfered with his social time!

Better than bacon

The best way to wake up in the morning is to the smell of Grandma cooking bacon. (It dosen't have the same effect anywhere else, only at Grandma's house.) Until yesterday morning. We always clean up their rooms before they go to bed- well usually I should say- and we missed the night before. Their friends had been over, and every toy, I mean every toy was on their bedroom floor. You couldn't even see the carpet. Overwhelmed I left it for the next days list. (Anything to get out of cleaning my closet... yes I am still getting to that) The boys came in (Ernie was as usual dressed, had eaten breakfast, made his bed and brushed his teeth all before I was awake) extremely excited to show me a surprise.
Time to brag. They had cleaned the room all by themselves! Now, when I say they cleaned their room, I mean they really cleaned it. I am a little ocd about the organization of their closet, and they had put everything in the right basket, bucket, or shelf it belonged to, and their floor was completely spotless. (I usually even have to go in and fix how big Ernie has cleaned up the toys, not that I am complaining, because I love that he is so awesome at cleaning, I am just kind of wierd...) Wow, a major accomplishment. It will be probably a decade before this happens again, so it is defanitely worth writing about. Now as long as they don't see that I still haven't cleaned my closet, I will feel like a success as a mother.
If only every morning could start off this way.

Our last trip to the Zoo

I helped chaperon Ernie's field trip to the Zoo right before school ended. It was our last trip to the Boise Zoo. We had a great time and I am so lucky I have been able to help out in his class every Thursday this year. His teacher has been awesome and has let me bring Caleb, which Caleb thinks is amazing.

I have to point out that Caleb picked out this shirt.  He loves it. I;m not quite sure why, but it was so cute that he fell in love with it so much, that I have to let him wear it.

Ernie's first crush, Carli.  Can you tell? I thought this one was cute because it shows Caleb getting chased by Carli, getting chased by Ernie.

The thumb Dance

So caleb has had a frustrating habit of sucking his thumb. Yes that's right, he's 4 and he still sucks his thumb. In an effort to get him to break his awful habit (his thumb is looking kind of grose and, hello braces- way excited about that expense!) We constantly remind him to stop. Well, we were driving around yesterday, and one of their favorite songs came on (thankyou Nat for their desire to listen to the radio and listen for the songs you have introduced them to. What happened to 'The Aunts Go Marching'?) We all started dancing and I looked back, and of course Caleb is sucking his thumb! As usual, I insisted that he stop, and he said, "I'm not sucking my thumb mom, I'm doing the thumb dance." Well played caleb.

Passing into a new phase of life

What an important day. I am starting a blog. Some people never thought this day would come, and I will be the first to admit that I didn't see it soming either. So, here goes my attempt to keep in touch with all of my awesome friends and family. Hopefully there will be things worth blogging about. I defanitely don't have an increadably interesting existence, but here it goes. I think my life now feels complete just by publishing this.
