A Glimpse

I will get to pictures of the house.  But here is a little peak.  This is the front courtyard.

A Little Girl Time

I had a fabulous weekend!! Ernie's sister Karli is getting married, so I decided to take a trip up to the shower.  I took a round about way, and boy am I glad! I got to fly to Blackfoot and spend dome time with my Grandma.  It was the day before her birthday, and so my Grandpa's sister and sister in law that live next door took her out to breakfast.  When they heard I was coming, they invited me as well! I was so lucky.

Aunt Lola, Grnadma, and Aunt Marge

Grandma and I had a great time.  We went shopping in Idaho Falls, and then grabbed some Cafe Rio to take home and eat on her back porch.  It was perfect weather, and perfect company.
I love Grandma to pieces. (Yes, the same Gandma that I mentioned in this post.) I have a few moments in my life that I will always treausre.  Sitting there on the porch with her, with her yard as our scenery, is one of them.

I then drove to Boise for my sister in law Karli's bridal shower.  So much fun!

I made these watermelon fruit baskets. Amber got up in the morning and helped. It turned out so great (even if I forgot the dang pinapple, cuss!)
Isn't Karli adorable?  She is so excited, and so happy! We are thirlled for her, and totally love her fiance Abi.

After the shower I went shopping with two of my siter in laws.  We had a great time (at least I did!)
And Ernie's Granmda Doreen came out for dinner that night.  We had such a fabulous time sitting out in my in law's deck and talking.
I know, I am majorly blessed.  I count my blessings every day for my family.  Both my immediate and the one I married into.

I had a great weekend, and I am so glad that I have such an awesome husband.  He is so great and supportive. And they had a lot of fun having their boys only weekend.

Father's Day Campout

Father's Day this year was great! We had my parents and two sisters over, and Enrie's brother and his family as well.  (I wish I was better at taking pictures.)
We had steak and homemade ice cream- Yum!
We got my dad a fire pit.  Apparently that got Caleb into a camping mode. All of a sudden he had set up "camp" in the living room. It was pretty funny.  Here is the part I wish I had gotten a picture of.......My dad all of a sudden grabbed Caleb's sleeping bag and yelled, "oh no, there's an earthquake" and proceeded to run through the house pulling Caleb in the sleeping bag behind him.  As you can imagine, Caleb thought it was awsome.  He asked one of my sisters if she wated to lay in the sleeping bag next to him. After she said yes, he informed her of the stipulation: she had to pull him around in the sleeping bag yelling "earthuake"!

Anyway, they ended up sleeping there that night.  Seeing that it is tile, my husband did not last long.  But we went down a little after the boys had gone to sleep and they were still there looking as comfortable as ever.
(Yes, the end of the story is that all four of us were in our bed when we woke up in the morning.)

29, Again!

It is official.  He is old.  You don't feel as old it seems when you are turning 29 again and again and again.  So I'm going to let him stay 29.  (Although, he honestly dosen't mind getting old for some reason.)
His birthday was May 25th.  The day before we had movers come.  As you can imagine, we were getting a lot ready.  So, we went out for breakfast. (BTW_ Lake Havasu people- we totally found our new favorite breakfast joint! Rusty's.Try the waffels.  They are fabulous!)
He was a good sport.  We were getting a lot ready to move that day.  But we also went out to eat dinner and got cupcakes for desert. I hope he felt special.

We celebrated a week later again.  My parents got us tickets to go see The Lion King.  It was SO good!

A few self portraits aren't the best, but capture the memory none the less!

T-Ball Party

The day before we moved, Caleb's t-ball team had their end of season water fun party.  The boys had a blast with water guns, slip n' slides, and a water slide.  And they ate pizza and cake.  They had so much fun!!

The Ultimate Battle Front

We spent all of last summer down here at these fountains. The kids love them! This year we only made it a few times, but it made for great fun while our home was getting packed up.

I love watching them as they turned the water fountains into an ultimate battle scene from one of their adventures.  They have amazing imaginations.

Normality

We are finally in our new home, and I have a zillion tings to catch up on, like Big Ernie's birthday (May 25th!). I have A LOT still to do. But our kitchen and dining areas are completely done. And that's a great start. My kids are very exctied to have a little bit of normality in their life. As an example, yesterday I made Ernie grilled cheese for lunch, and Caleb wanted mac n' cheese. As Ernie was finishing up his second sandwhich, he looked at me and said, "Thanks mom, it was so nice to have a really good homemade meal again!"

Here is our kitchen

And here is what the rest of th house looks like.  Boxes and stuff EVERYWHERE!!

Uprooting

Most of you know about our move to Vegas.  If not, here is the update.  Ernie got a promotion with his job which moves us to Vegas.  That is where I grew up and so it is going to be fun to go back. (Although, it is a COMPLETELY different city than I grew up in! Holy cow, I didn't even know most of the areas we looked for houses in even existed!)
It will be a GREAT thing for Ernie and it will be a good experience for all of us I am sure.

It is always hard to meet amazing and wonderful people just to have to move away from them. In an effort to make it easier for our kids, we didn't have any elaborate goodbyes and tried to keep all of the saying goodbye stuff pretty low key.  Here are the few pictures I took. I really didn't take very many, so don't get offended you aren't on here! I wish I had taken a few more, but the few times I did take them, the kids got kind of sad.

Here are the boys with the nieghbor boys Chad and Chase.  Ernie especially had a hard time saying goodbye. (It broke my heart that he cried as we pulled away from our house after saying goodbye to them, and I was grateful then that I didn't do this with any of their other friends.)

We became friends with one couple, the Childs that we grew to love.  We stopped by and took a picture with Laddy their dog as well.  He was gone on buisness (yes, he's in his 80's and still works part time! He is amazing!)

(And I am very selfless, I know.  I will even post this picture, despite my make-up less face and my not great outfit! :)
We grew to really love the people we met in Lake Havasu.  We met some of the best people! I love how relaxed most of the town in general is. It is just a very eclectic town and I am very grateful for the past year we have had there.  We are definitely better people for having moved there. Is is funny how at home I felt after such a short amount of time.  And I feel like the people I met are people I have known for years.  School, church, and sports teams were so amazing there and we made, I hope, life long friendships.
Isn't it amazing where life brings us?  Who knew that it would take us to Lake Havasu City, AZ.  But I am beyond grateful and it has been a fabulous year of our lives. Wow, I still can't believe it has only been a year.  Exactly a year actually. SO thank you thank you thank you all of the people that became part of our lives.  And if you are EVER in Vegas you HAVE to call us! We would love to see any of you, even if it's just for a minute at a park or something.

Change is hard.  However, it is also one of the things in life that can challenge us to become better people. And heaven only knows that I need as much opportunity as possible to become a better person! As hard as it is to uproot everything you are familiar with and start again, I am exited for the experience.  How could I not be after I saw what amazing things were available to us by uprooting to Havasu?  So bring it on.
