The Land of Legos

We have often heard and been part of the boys imaginary conversations of the coolest places they could imagine.  The two they always came back to and gradually developed into some pretty fun ideas were "Boy Land" and the "Land of Legos".  Little did they know that there really was a Lego Land.
We took the boys there this past weekend.  After we had been there a few minutes, Ernie turned to me and said, "Mom, this is even better than I dreamed it would be!".

We had a great time. Caleb would have spent a the whole day in the Mini  Land part.  He was completely amazed.

The boys decided this was their new brother, and wanted their picture with him.  Not sure who they thought the 'dad' was.

Ernie was NOT excited about going on this ride with his brother, so we of course being completely understanding parents, made him go and did everything we could to draw as much attention to him as possible, and took a picture.

Their hero!!!!
I wish I could have taken pictures of all of the mini cities.  They were amazing! They had SanFransisco, Vegas, D.C., and a bunch of others.  SO fun to see!

(Dad, this is for you.  If you can't see the name, it's Winston Churchill)

We had a great weekend and are so grateful we are able to do things like this with them.

Night Out On The Town

A little while ago, my friend called to ask if I wanted to go out for a little girl time with she and another friend.  If you know me at all, you don't even need me to tell you what my answer was, but just to verify what you were thinking..... there was a big fat yes to be had!  The two of them invited me to go see Evita with them.  I was really excited because I love love love mucicals, and I hadn't done something like that in a long time. When we were at dinner, they told me that this was my birthday treat from them! I couldn't believe they thought to do something so sweet for me!  And this is the wonderful moment when they told me. (captured with my mouth shoved full of food :)

We had a great time!  I was so glad I got to experience it with them!  The show was fabulous, and the company couldn't have been better.
We made sure to get a picture for two reasons.  First, we don't get to go 'out on the town' all that often.  Second, we don't get out on the town dressed in matching black dress slacks very often either :) (And I wish I could have taken a picture of my shoes, they are fabulous, and I don't get to wear them more than once or twice a month.)

Quick funny moment: During intermission, I needed to go to the restroom. We were standing near an entrance door.  My friend Brooke said, "Oh, I saw a porta potty right outside." I decided that I would try my luck in the lobby in hopes there was a restroom there.  Luckily there was.  After the show, we walked out and saw the porta potty.

(Terrible picture of me, and I am selfless enough to let you see it, so you get the full picture.)

Upon closer inspection we saw this

Yes.  And it was for the lead role!  We had a few laughs, and luckily Brooke thought to capture this awesome memory as well.

It was fabulous.  We have decided to start our own little theatre groupies club, and I can't wait until next time ladies!

A Saturday With The Animals

Last weekend Ernie had to work at a conference thing for a few hours in Phoenix, so we decided we would tag along.  It was so much fun! We love Phoenix area (believe it or not, for more than just the existence of many many large and beautiful Targets- and yes, for those of you wondering I might even drive 3 hrs-not just the one I usually do- just for that :)
The kids thought it was heaven just to be at a hotel.  Why are hotels so amazing to children? We should have just let that be the climax of the trip.  But for my own amusement, I thought I would take them somewhere fun while Ernie was at his conference Saturday.  So we went and spent some quality time with this little gal.
Well, with more than just her, but this was definitely the highlight.  We went to the Pheonix Zoo.  Since they boys were little, I had gotten a pass for Zoo Boise.  We would spend probably about a day a week in the summer there.  We have definitely missed our zoo time.  And this Zoo (don't hate me Boise Zoo, you will always be dear to my heart) totally blew that one out of the water! We had such a great time.

They have an hour each day that they let you feed the giraffes. (Totally worth the $3 if any of you ever get there.)  Of course Ernie was very adimant that we were first in line.  We may have wasted about a half hour that NO ONE else was in line, but we were first by golly.

They grabbed it so quickly from your hands with their increadibly strong tounges, that I the only was able to catch this one of Ernie
The boys both agreed that this was the definite favorite part of the day!

Here are a few other pictures of our outing. The only one I will comment on is the one of the rhinos.  The boys were completely fascinated by the way they ate! They watched them eat for quite a while, and I thought it was so adorable!

I Hope we can go back again soon!

Tag- I'm it

So, I will start off with the negitive.  I have never participated in "tagging" before. The tag was to open up the first folder of pictures on my computer, and then post the tenth one in the file along with an explination.  I thought it would be fun to see what that picture was, so I looked it up, and sure enough, it was totally worth posting!
So ladies and gentlemen......da da da da....my tenth picture in my first file folder is...........

Karli (my sister in law) with Caleb in 2005.  How stinking cute and chubby is that kid?
This was on a Sunday afternoon at a family dinner we had for my brother in law Travis before he went on his mission to Texas.  Caleb is probably 7 months or so. Oh, I wish I could just grab that cute little baby and give him a huge hug!

So now for the fun part of tagging others.  Here it goes, you five lucky lucky people!
Hmmm, five people I think might actually like to do this (and now a test as to whether or not you read my blog :)
Christina Nina Roskelley Curtis
Jill Jilly Henricksen
Gina Ed Steed
Emily Hansen Smith
Hillary Bushman

Don't you feel special?  You totally should.

One Lucky Lady

I have a had a GREAT birthday! I am definitely one lucky lucky girl.
Here is a little picture to show you how the day started.  (And yes, they completely woke me up when they came in the room. At least I was wearing cute jammies.)
Breakfast in bed!  They even came in singing to me.

(I just noticed the general Christmas theme. Christmas pjs-except little Ernie who is of course dressed because this was at the late hour of 6:30 in the morning- and Christmas wrapping paper. What can I say, we just love Christmas at our house :)

Ernie made me the omlet, and I was so proud. It tasted as good as it looked!

As a special birthday treat, I went back to bed and slept- instead of running, whoops- in until 9:30 after the boys went to school!

I felt so special today! So many sweet cards, emails, facebook messages, and phone calls.

I got to have lunch with Ernie.

I went and got a massage.

My parents completely surprised me with tickets to Boston to see my sister. If that isn't enough, my in-laws gave me money so I can buy some clothes for my cruise coming up (woo hoo!).

Someone WAY to sweet surprised me with these. I even got a serenade of "Happy Birthday".

And, as a finale to the day, I got to go out to dinner with my 3 fabulous boys.
(This would be pre-meal when little E was staving, and big E couldn't help but poke a little fun at how dramatic our little Ernie can be.
(A little food did the trick)

And now- another nice little birthday treat- I am going to go and take a long, warm bath.

I can't believe how amazing my day was. Thank you so much everyone for making be feel so special today! I never expected to be showered with so much attention, love, and gifts today.
Did I mention that I was one lucky girl? Well, I most positively am!
